Dichro Moon Glass comes in four shapes: 1" x 1", 2 x 2, 1 3/4" Triangle and Cat's-eye. Each can be used as a field tile or as an accent in the same applications as our Beach Glass, which means ANY residential or commercial location: interior or exterior, on walls, counters, floors, patios or in swimming pools.
We designed Dichro Moon Glass as the perfect compliment to our Beach Glass. Individual Moon Glass pieces are interchangeable with any Beach Glass mosaic of the same form. When coupled in a mosaic pattern, whether a Beach Glass deco, field pattern or medallion, Dichro Moon Glass creates absolutely striking plays of color and light.
EASE OF USE
Dichro Moon Glass comes as individual pieces or mounted as a mosaic on clear tape. The tape faces up during installation, which permits your installer to see and control spacing. In addition, the tape leaves no glue residue once it is removed. For larger installations, Dichro Moon Glass 1" x 1" tile comes in 10" x 10" sheets that are easy to handle and easy to place.
INSTALLATION
We strongly recommend that you use only white thin-set mortar with 100% latex additive. Apart from this, Dichro Moon Glass requires nothing more than standard tile installation. Simply apply the thin-set, smooth out the trowel marks (Dichro Moon Glass is moderately translucent) and lay the tile with the tape facing up. Dichro Moon Glass can be trimmed using any wet-saw with a diamond blade. Once the thin-set has dried, peel off the tape and grout as you normally would with ceramic tile.
GROUT
Any color grout, sanded or unsanded, may be used. Be sure to check the manufacturer‚s specifications as they apply to your installation. The color of the grout will impart some color to the glass.
UPKEEP
Dichro Moon Glass is non-pourous. A grout sealer may be used because it will not penetrate the tile. If you desire a more transparent or "wet look" periodically apply any paste wax. Dichro Moon Glass may be cleaned with any standard floor or wall cleaner.
LIGHT
Because Dichro Moon Glass refracts light in an extraordinary play of color, we strongly recommend that you light it once it is installed to fully appreciate its beauty.
